HOW DOES A PSYCHOTHERAPIE SESSION CONDUCT?

Psychotherapy sessions typically last 45 minutes and follow the principles of the standard treatment process, which combines both self-awareness and therapeutic approach. During this time, I listen attentively to the individual, guiding them in expressing their suffering, thoughts, and emotions, while closely observing how they manifest. The sessions are usually held on a weekly basis, and the duration of therapy primarily depends on the evolution of the person's suffering, their specific needs, and their availability.

During the session, the individual is encouraged to freely express whatever comes to mind, without constraint. Words and actions are then revisited and, if necessary, interpreted. This process is part of a therapeutic journey aimed at helping the person address their symptomatic manifestations, alleviating them, or even making them disappear. That being said, beyond the disappearance of symptoms, my primary role is to support the person in recognizing and understanding themselves. As Jacques Lacan stated, as a psychoanalyst, "it is certain that our justification, as well as our duty, is to improve the subject's position." Care in psychoanalysis does not mean the person is "ill." Symptoms may be pathological, but they are primarily the expression of repressed and unprocessed elements of the internal psychic life. The fundamental goal of my work is to bring the unconscious into consciousness, identifying the source of psychological suffering. By improving the individual's position, I invite them to reconnect with their internal psychic life and engage in real self-work. The disappearance of symptoms and psychological disorders naturally follows during the course of the treatment.

Finally, and most importantly, as a regulated clinical psychologist, I am bound by the code of ethics for psychologists. I practice with respect for the person, their dignity, and their freedom, as well as with respect for privacy, professional secrecy, and confidentiality.

TYPES OF CONSULTATIONS

Individual consultation

During therapy sessions, we will work together to better understand your difficulties. Psychotherapy is a treatment using psychological means, while psychoanalysis offers a deeper approach, aiming to explore the psychic life in more depth. It is based on the subject's desire to better understand themselves and their unconscious mechanisms.

Couple therapy

Couple therapy is typically a step taken when the union is under strain. You will be welcomed into a supportive and neutral space for open dialogue. By fostering an understanding of the couple’s dynamics and those of each partner, therapy contributes to a better harmony and more fulfilling coexistence.

Family therapy

Family therapy considers the child or adolescent in their interactions with the various family members. It takes into account the overall family dynamics and aims to highlight the unspoken, resentments, and fears of each member, in order to encourage more peaceful and constructive communication.

PRICES

The fee for a session ranges from 45 to 95 euros, depending on the type of consultation, its duration, and the financial resources of the person attending. Payment can be made in cash or by check. Credit card payments are not accepted.

In the case of regular follow-ups, any missed session is due, unless the cancellation has been communicated at least one day in advance.
